repressed memories

today, panzer pointed to my boob and said "drink milk out of there."

mommy:  well, you used to drink milk out of there when you were baby.  now you drink milk out of a jug in the fridge.
p: *points to left boob*  this mohs' milk.  *points to right boob*  this panzer's milk.
mommy:  like i said, there's milk in the fridge.

tie me up

today, panzer got out of the bath screaming "tie me up!"  sounds bad! but daddy will knot the towel around him like a straightjacket for a few seconds of restraint and p thinks its hilarious.

sidekick

today, panzer spent some quality time with batman and his atv.  this is a toy that never fails to disappoint him.  he can spend an hour putting batman in the seat, driving him around using the tiny, tiny handlebars, letting him off for a few seconds, and repeat.  he's like batman's transportation manager.

petty thief

today, panzer crimed a tin of cookies off the counter and shared them with his brother.

together, they decimated half, and crumbled the other half into microscopic pieces to grind into the tile.

peeping panzer

today, panzer peered under the crack of the door to see what daddy was doing.  (of course, mohs chimed in too.)

good to know all those talks about privacy have been effective. 

one picture

today panzer actually got a sweet picture of mommy.  he grabs my camera, runs off, and promises to take "one picture" every chance he gets.  most are of his finger or a close-up of the inside of his brain as seen through his eyeballs.  thus, surprising that mommy bothered to ham it up for the photo...

honey boo boo

today, panzer stood outside the bathroom and called "sweetheart?  sweetheart?" to mommy.  he repeats everything we say, which includes shouting "aaaaaaaa-ron!" across the house, among other more colorful phrases.

and even if you don't make a big deal out of it, he knows exactly which word you wish he had left out.  example:

daddy:  that's freakin' crazy.
p:  that's freakin' crazy.
daddy:  no, that's just crazy.
p:  that's just freakin' crazy.

helping again

today, panzer insisted on helping siti feed mohs.  

tree hugger

today, panzer watched "the lorax" (who he calls "the mustache") for the fifty-hundredth time.  in the middle he looked at me and said "tree fall down, mommy.  i sad."  and stuck out his little lip.

git err done

today, panzer started saying "heeeulp" instead of "help" and "meeeulk" instead of "milk."

the only place i can think that he might have picked up this accent in the middle of arizona is from his buddy mater.

and our efforts to revert back to appropriate pronunciation have thus far failed.  thanks, disney.

bulls and bobs

today, panzer told me a very involved story about a "bobdozer."

hee hee hee, love that kid ...

jamas

today, panzer refused to put his clothes on.  actually, i got him into pants and a t-shirt and he skulked away, only to return a few minutes later, lip extended, to ask "mommy, please put jamas on?"

so, off he went to the babysitter in his fleece footy football pjs.  whatev.

upside down

today, panzer started using the phrase "upside down."  correctly.

i know he's a genius, but where does he learn this stuff??

wildlife world zoo

today, panzer visited the wildlife world zoo and aquarium.  they have lots of monkeys and birds, which was cool because those are the same animals that ride on the bus on a show he is obsessed with, so he kept saying "hi papaya" to all the tropical birds.

P rode the skyride with me and saw the animals from above, including the camels that were "pushing" each other.  i think he had fun but i was terrified and promised him any number of bribes to get him to calm down once he decided he was "done flying in the sky" halfway through.

 he tried to feed the giraffe, but was stingy, only passing out one pellet at a time.  the giraffe quickly lost interest.

he spent a lot of time inspecting this guy and naming all of his parts.  here they are, comparing teeth.

P would not participate in the touch tank even though mommy set a good example and (for the first time ever!!!) touched the horseshoe crab, the urchin and the starfish.  proof that parenthood makes you crazy.

pull my finger

today, panzer learned to "pull my finger."  a hilarious and valuable skill, thanks daddy.

best big bro

today, panzer tolerated this with a very calm: "mohs eat my foot.  yucky."

sometimes he can be a very sweet big brother.

i make it

today, panzer built a dump truck with daddy.

he loves screwing and "not screwing" the wheels on and off.  plus, i've even got him taking laundry in the back, one piece at a time, from his bedroom to the laundry basket in the back of the dump.

picking boogies.

today, panzer got a bunch of goathead thorns stuck in his bike tires.  he stopped and very carefully pried them all out (apparently daddy's OCD can be inherited) while loudly proclaiming he was "picking the boogies out of my bike."

big bad wolf

today, panzer stole mohs' house.

i got mohs this little garden activity center on super-clearance after christmas.  it's been 3 days and P has not stopped touching it.  although he calls it "mohs house," he mostly makes mohs stay in "the yard" unless he gets an express invitation in.  it's cozy.

still helping

today, panzer helped me fold the laundry.  it's hilarious to see yourself re-enacted by a little curly-headed kid.  apparently, when i'm folding laundry, it looks like i am furiously balling things up for a solid minute and then throwing them at the couch as hard as i can.

choo choo part quatro

today, panzer celebrated christmas with siti and grandpa ... and scored this sweet train!  he still loves choo choos and this one is a particular favorite because it has a string for mobility, and because it gets daddy's attention too.

hiccups

today, panzer had the hiccups.  this is one of my favorite things, because he calls them "heep-ups."  which is one of my favorite of P's words.  and he insists on talking non-stop about "my heep-ups" until they go away. :)
