happy halloween!

today, panzer dressed as a gorilla for halloween!

we took him trick-or-treating around our block -- he did good at ringing door bells, and got the hand of shoveling candy into his bucket, but mostly he wanted to eat each piece as he collected it.

and then ... look for the bicycle-riding gorilla next time you're at the circus.

GT napkin

today, panzer continued opening presents.  i told him this one was from granny todd and asked him what it was as he slowly peeled off the paper, a sliver a time.

i don't know why he loves napkins ... but thanks for the cat in the hat t-shirt gt!

pumpkin eater

today, panzer helped carve pumpkins.

he was super into it until he saw what is inside a pumpkin.  but, once he got his own spoon, he had no problem taking the pumpkin guts and scooping them into the pumpkins while we were trying to clean them out.

TWO!

today, panzer turned TWO!

today, panzer celebrated his birthday at the park with all his best friends.  and cake.

today, panzer scared the crap out of me by climbing up this precarious metal ladder thing to the top of the slide by himself.

today, panzer took after mommy, and spent the afternoon operating heavy equipment at the mine.

dirty

today, panzer had dirty hands.  when i suggested that maybe he needed to wipe his hands and grabbed a towel, he ran over to mohs and wiped his hands on mohs' sleeve.

lesson learned:  don't give P a head's up when i'm on my way with the rag.

today, panzer got what was coming to him.

needful things

today, panzer started using the word "need."

i feel this is unnecessary and inappropriate.  P has no concept of that word or what it means...

xmas in october

today, panzer identified santa claus at the grocery store!  (i know, it isn't even halloween yet...)

mommy:  do you know what santa claus does?

panzer:  he eats pizza.

garbage

today, panzer went nuts for the garbage man.  he does this every thursday-trash-day -- listens carefully for the garbage truck, asks to go outside, sits quietly on the step, and waves like a maniac the entire time the garbage truck picks up the four garbage cans on our tiny street.

too cool for school

today, panzer:

today, panzer had his first dippin' dots.

about halfway through, he said "i eat balls."  then he pointed out "mommy's balls" and "panzer's balls."  hee hee.

dinosaurs

today, panzer went to the albuquerque zoo.  he was a big fan of the reptile house.  (and the train of course!)

on the way home, he said "i see dinosaur swimming!" so apparently the komodo dragon stuck with him -- although not the part where the zookeeper was feeding him actual mice :/

balloons!

today, panzer went to the balloon fiesta in albuquerque, new mexico.

he liked the shape balloons, and the breakfast burrito.  and getting up early and being a virtual celebrity on the tour bus/shuttle.

today, panzer slept in a real bed for the first time -- at our hotel in albuquerque.

he did really well until he rolled off.  i scooped him up and replaced him and he went right back to sleep.

grandpa bacon

today, panzer randomly started talking about grandpa.

mommy:  where is grandpa?
P:   at siti's house!
mommy:  what's he doing?
P:  he's eating.
mommy:  ha ha.  what's he eating?
P:  bacon!

creepy crawly

today, panzer came home with his first craft from the babysitter -- a spider made of a paper plate and pipe cleaners.

he also became very interested in the giant hairy spiders climbing up the pepsi display at safeway.  but when i picked one up and asked if he needed it he practically jumped out of the cart -- so i am encouraged that he is appropriately cautious.

workin'

today, panzer found a wrench and insisted his bike be turned over so he could "work" on it.

just like daddy.

today, panzer got his first box of crayons.

today, panzer spent a good 40 minutes trying to pick up his blanket with the tongs.

on the one hand ... why?  on the other hand, i'm impressed with his dedication.

cooking

today, panzer had spaghetti for dinner.  when i fixed him a bowl, he started eating and said "mommy cooks."

ironic that he knows the word "cooks" as i certainly have not set any sort of example.  and ... actually siti cooked it and brought it over for us.  thanks, siti.

hot dog

today, panzer stuck his tongue out and started panting.  and announced he was a "doggy" and that he was "hot."

making more connections ... continuing to amaze his mommy.

i'm pretty sure we have a thrill seeker on our hands.  poor mommy :(

hay is for horses

today, panzer tried to eat hay from the hayride.  when i told him that hay is for horses, he was sold.
