today, panzer became obsessed with pumpkins. starting with his pumpkin PJs ... to the grocery store where we picked up this little beauty (best 79 cents i've spent so far):
we fostered the obsession with a trip to the pumpkin patch, where daddy and panzer chose this monstrosity (which cost 70 cents per pound):
and ended the day by putting up zero fight when P insisted on taking the pumpkin to bed with him. *shrug*
today, panzer told me "baby crying. baby sad." while mohs was fussing in the other room. and went about his business. apparently when you're almost-2, things just are.
today, panzer went to the zoo for the first time. he could not get enough of the monkeys and the alligator (who was swimming and also confusing panzer by being half over and half under the water).
and much to auntie karrie's chagrin, also enjoyed the reptile house, full of snakes and spiders and hissing cockroaches. boys....
today, panzer sat on the front porch swing in his sweet shark hoodie, drinking coffee and waiting for the garbage man to roll by.
it's mostly water, but that kid will steal your coffee in a second if you don't keep a sharp eye on him and look you right in the face and say MMMMMMMMM! like black coffee is the best thing that ever crossed his lips.
today, panzer followed the spoon of mushed carrots and baby cereal from the bowl to mohs' mouth. one time. once i gave him a bite -- he was happy to let his brother enjoy the mush.
today, the muppet movie soundtrack ended and we continued right into my alkaline trio CD. which panzer informed me, loudly and multiple times, was LOUD. but once we agreed on that, he seemed to enjoy it :)
p loves the muppet movie soundtrack. and today, panzer started singing along... sort of. i heard him talking super softly in the back seat, repeating the words like a back-up singer.
kermit: is there more i could have said?
P: have said.
kermit: now they're only pictures in my head.
P: picture. head.
kermit: that's why my green is feeling grey.
P: green. grey.
kermit: sometimes even frogs have rainy days.
P: frog. rain. day.
today, panzer through a fit over wearing shorts. where the heck does that come from? i, of course, sent him to the babysitter in what amounts to a singlet and water shoes. lookin' good babe.
at least that's what we told him he was doing to keep him going ... it only partially worked. we got our labor day exercise carrying him back up. (he says "mountain" and "tent" very clearly, thanks to his "great outdoors" signing time video.)
