stats part dos

today, panzer went for his 18 month check-up.  he is 35 inches tall and 27 1/2 lbs -- more than a foot longer and 20 lbs heavier than the day he was born.

he didn't have to get any shots!  and the pediatrician said he looked mischievous, but enjoyable.

today, panzer finally met uncle alan and aunt jana.  he likes them; to be fair, they have a fountain and an ipad.

none like it hot part dos

today, panzer told me the water in the tub was hot, then bent down to blow on it and cool it off.

water table

today, panzer tried out his new water table.

it's hard to tell whether he likes the water better on the ground, or down the front of his t-shirt.

ice cream

today, panzer and daddy took off on their bike to chase down the ice cream truck -- resulting in P's first popsicle.  he's sold.

night night

today, panzer went to bed on his own for the third night in a row.  at bedtime, he gives daddy a high-five and a fist bump, blows him a kiss, gives him a hug, and waves "night night."  then, i put him in his crib and watch him on the monitor with his eyes wide open, quietly staring at the ceiling and rubbing his blanket from GT.  a few minutes later, he decides to go to sleep, closes his eyes, and is done.

today, the first four words out of panzer's mouth when he saw me were "no." 

i knew it would happen someday.  looking forward to a gazillion more glorious times...

nesting

today, panzer showed a lot of interest in the baby bassinette, which i finally emptied of the last year+ accumulations of doo-dahs so p's brother will have a place to sleep someday. 

first, panzer tried to climb onto the back of the couch and jump into it. 

then, i showed him that this is where the baby sleeps, and put my stuffed pig in with a blanket over top.  as soon as i turned my back, panzer ripped the blanket out and left the pig face down on the floor.  sweet.

fuzzy friends

and today, panzer tried to feed his stuffed frog chair half of his tootsie roll.  i think he's ready for a brother :)

sewer friends

today, panzer apparently decided his new rat puppet was the best toy ever.  he just sits around hanging out with the rat, chewing on its tail...

and giving it high fives and hugs.

kind of gross, but i'm glad P doesn't discriminate against hideous toys.  and in the grand scheme of possible rat toys, this is about as good as it gets.  thanks auntie heidi!

today, panzer started giving his stuffed animals high fives

today, panzer roared at several strangers in safeway.  at the top of his lungs.  i have never heard him be so loud.

now we must work on "the inside voice."

gone fishin'

today, panzer went fishing with daddy in granny todd's pond.

he's a catch and release kind of guy -- not scared to pick up the fish...

or the frogs...

more eat

today, panzer strung 2 signs together -- to tell GT that he wanted "more eat."  (this was apparently after he ate a pint of blueberries, a pineapple and an entire turkey...)

pre-party

today, panzer pre-partied with auntie kimmy to celebrate her forthcoming nuptials.

yardwork

today, panzer helped granny todd mow the lawn.  not everyone gets to enjoy the scag.

papa t

today, panzer visited with papa tom, the only person whose general presence he's ever disagreed with. 

apparently, p worked out all the issues and made himself at home, using papa t as a footrest.

rollin' rollin' rollin'

today, panzer found a new use for the my vintage little people buses.

you just can't keep this kid away from wheels.

mommy

today, panzer started saying "mommy" instead of "momomom."  i was already a sucker, now i am doomed.

easter mysteries

today, panzer celebrated easter with the thomas the train easter edition set, complete with chirping birdies in the back.

he is fascinated with the magnet that holds the two pieces together.

rooted

today, panzer got in his first bounce house.  he hated it.  even when 9-months-pregnant mommy climbed in to cheer him on. 

p apparently likes his feet planted firmly on the ground -- he also hates the elevator and drops down to all fours and cries as soon as it starts.

sweeper

today, panzer used the broom to "sweep" the remote off of the counter that was previously out of his reach.  just when i think nothing is safe, i realize how truly nothing is safe...

ashes, ashes

today, panzer spun in a circle so long he fell down and was dizzy enough that he couldn't get back up.  silly...

egg hunt

today, panzer went on his first easter egg hunt.  he found one shiny orange egg (by accident) and was completely content in putting it in his basket, then coming back around every few minutes or so to make sure it was still there.  the rest of the time, he spent running after other kids, and eventually, stealing their candy, and this:

today, panzer helped daddy fix this bicycle.

you can't see the 3-way wrench in his hand, but he's the perfect height to work on the crank right now.
