today, panzer mocked my sneeze. except it instead of a sneeze, it sounded like he was hocking the biggest loogie ever -- still, i got the point.

we thought that P's first words might be "bless you," because he hears it so much as i sneeze at least 40 times per day. instead, he just makes fun of me.

this was not as bad as thanksgiving though, when uncle AJ had incurable hiccups. P sat right next to him and made a little squeak everytime uncle AJ did, laughing of course.

ho ho ho

today, panzer woke up at 5 AM to see if santa came -- taking after auntie kimmy. :\

thereafter, he was far more interested in bubble wrap, pine needles collecting on the tile, and the big bag of garbage wrapping paper than any of santa's goodies.

today, panzer grew his first rock mustache... a combination of runny nose in the chilly air and sticking his face in the sand.

panzer always looks like charlie brown, with his big round head and little mullet-y curls. but today, panzer looks even more like charlie brown in his yellow t-shirt.

today, panzer went to open mic night at the bar @ stromboli's and made friends with grizzlied old men in various stages of disarray. panzer makes friends everywhere, with everyone. it is one of the things i love best about him. and for this reason, aaron thinks he's destined to be a religious leader.

moonwalk

today, panzer discovered how to walk backwards. he is tottling around backwards until he runs into something. then he laughs and looks surprised and takes off full speed ahead!

canned goods

today, panzer refused to eat his breakfast until i placed an unopened can of creamed corn on his tray.

big brother

today, panzer found out he's going to be big brother to a little brother ca. may 2012.

today, panzer realized what a big, big world he lives in.

not really. but he did go on his first hunt for the lost dutchman's treasure in the superstition mountains. better luck next time, P.

pull up a chair

today, panzer dragged himself out of the play room, pulled out his own chair at the big kids' table, and ate his strawberry-banana gelato with a spoon, all by himself.

and today, panzer discovered the tinsel.

then he went around the tree and touched every light (that he could reach) saying "hot, hot, hot."

today, panzer helped daddy screw the christmas tree into the stand.

today, panzer threw up nine times. mommy actually misses thick, white, relatively odorless little baby spit-up.

now he is practicing being white-trashy by taking a nap in his outdated thanskgiving onesy (the only clean shirt in the house) on an old towel in his crib with no sheets (also not clean).

today, panzer learned what the little levers on the front of the refrigerator do -- dispense ice and water. my floor wil never be dry again.

today, panzer rocked out to the violent femmes for the very first time, of what is sure to be many. popular music isn't getting any better and this is sure one angsty ballad sure to stick around for at least another 15 years. naturally, he especially liked the quiet-to-loud parts.

oats

today, panzer "ate" a bowl of oatmeal. someone suggested to me that it was a good food to learn how to use a spoon with because it's sticky.

fail. P is not motivated to eat oatmeal. he is motivated to squeeze oatmeal in his hands and spread it all over the place, like in his little mullet curls. (you will notice, his spoon is nowhere in site.) yuck.

to contrast, P is very skillful with the spoon when homemade chocolate gelato is involved...

today, panzer broke out his thirteenth tooth. (i knew to look because he woke up with rancid breath!)

great outdoors

today, panzer went to the park.

this isn't the first time P has been to the park, but it is the first time he has discovered some old flat nasty filthy bubble gum on the sidewalk, and after being unable to pry it up with his fingers, got down on all fours to try to pry it up with his teeth.

bang bang

today, panzer got his first visible bruise. on his forehead, above his right eye. i'm not exactly sure what happened, except that it happened on siti and grandpa's watch. he's in good spirits though -- ate a whole bowl full of black beans, yelled HOT when i opened the oven door, and hid three toys in my purse, all before bathtime.

the next day, his bruise turned a nice shade of yellow, and he added a huge scrape on top -- also not on my watch. P and daddy went for a hike, and since he hasn't learned how to watch where he's going, it didn't take long to meet a rock, head first.

strawberry fields forever

today, panzer fell in love with strawberry ice cream. sure to be the subject of many bribes to come!

knock knock

today, panzer had to go to the pediatrician for a few vaccinations. instead of waiting patiently in the "waiting room" for the impending doom, he took off down the hallway, pushed open the first door that wasn't latched well, and marched into someone else's doctor's appointment.

by the time i caught up, he was patting some teenage boy's foot as he had his blood pressure taken. so much for health information privacy...

stranger danger

today, panzer refused candy from a stranger.

today, panzer executed a perfect three-point turn on the alphabet train. (he really is surprisingly adept at steering things around the house. which is good, because there are a lot of obstacles.)

today, panzer sat on his first vintage motorcycle -- a 1987 honda supermagna. (happy birthday, daddy!)

today, panzer came running screeching around the corner into the living room. he apparently found a quarter somewhere and promptly fed it to his piggy bank, shook the piggy to make sure it was full, and went about his business.

today panzer ate like a jancaitis at his first solid food thanksgiving.
